Starbucks Coffee: The Good, the Bad, and the Peppermint Mocha

This week Eat by Stars is cheating.  I’m completely ripping this off from Men’s Health magazine.  Only because their breakdown of Starbucks Coffee is perfectly succinct and enlightening.

Five coffee drinks.  Each with another ingredient added.  Pushing the calorie load up and the star rank down.

Caffé Americano® (Espresso, Water)

Calories 15, fat 0g, sugar 0g

Caffé Latte® (Espresso, 2% Milk)

Calories 190, fat 7g, sugar 17g

Caffé Mocha® (Espresso, 2% Milk, mocha sauce)

Calories 260, fat 8g, sugar 34g

Caffé Mocha w/Whip® (Espresso, 2% milk, mocha, whipped crm)

Calories 330, fat 15g, sugar 35g

Iced Peppermint Mocha® (Espresso, 2% Milk, mocha sauce, whipped cream, peppermint syrup, chocolate curls)

Calories 390, fat 17g, sugar 49g
